The Portrait Project Opening Reception: Thursday, August 26, @ 7:30PM Once again, the Brandon Folk Music and Art Society (BFMAS) are taking a photographic look at our beloved downtown Brandon. Last year, in their Core Values exhibition the BFMAS asked participants to snap photos of what they loved about the downtown. The work that resulted captured the seminal architectural buildings of Brandon. This year, the BFMAS has created The Portrait Project in order to capture the people that make this area so unique. As the title suggests, The Portrait Project will consist of portraits of downtown residents taken by photographers and lead artists of the project Colin Corneau and/or John Scott. The objective of this project is to create a visual archive that illustrates the human diversity of our downtown Brandon neighborhoods. If you live in the downtown area and are interested in participating in this project as a sitter, you can contact the Brandon Folk Music and Art Society at brandonfolkfestival@gmail.com. It is a great forum for exhibiting work and it provides a good opportunity for professional development for artists.
