| Our curator is guided by the need to represent diversity and foster understanding of different communities within the region in selecting artists to exhibit in our two galleries. As the only professional public gallery space in a large region of urban and rural concerns, the AGSM presents a multifaceted range of exhibitions from community-based art to contemporary art production in all media.
Approximately sixteen exhibitions are presented each year in two gallery spaces. Exhibitions usually span a period of four to six weeks and present artists from the region, province and across Canada. Artists from Aboriginal and Métis communities are given particular emphasis and comprise approximately 30% of our programming.
