Learn step-by-step how to create projects in clay, using pinch, coil and slab methods. Use your imagination to sculpt unique and wonderful works of art that you will treasure. Apply jewel-toned glazes and learn how soft, squishy clay is transformed in the AGSM pottery kilns.

Pop-Up Puppet Kitchen (March 25, 26, & 27)

Learn creative methods to build an awesome puppet, and unleash your imagination. Find inspiration from Jim Henson and his puppet workshop as you create characters, cut, and attach fabric and faux fur, then add details such as sweaters, hats, mustaches, wings, and more. Bring your puppets to life as you create short performances in the newly constructed Puppet Theatre Library created by local artist Chris Reid.

Clay Animals and Dinosaur Sculptures

Learn how to roll, attach and sculpt clay into shapes and sculptures. Add details like scales, claws, and teeth with special clay tools.

Afternoon

1:00 - 4:00 PM

Colour Splash

Work with oil pastels, inks, tile and wood to create colourful and unique works of art. Experiment with wax and juicy colours to create jewel-like treasures.

Toys, Art, Us: A Drawing Workshop

Create magnificent drawings as you set-up toy dioramas and draw all your favourite characters. Learn about line, positive and negative space, and drawing people and animals.

Afternoon

1:00 - 4:00 PM

Zoo Animal Pull-Toys

This class involves drawing, learning about animals, and building fantastic animal sculptures that are actually toys you can take home and play with! Learn to cut, attach, plan, and build with wood, faux fur, cardboard, and more!
