First held in 1988, Westman’s original artisan and craft show returns to the AGSM! We are celebrating our 30th year with a new look, as well as a variety of live music and exciting events over the 2 days. Showcased within our Main Gallery and additional gallery spaces, this dazzling holiday fine art and craft sale will feature work and handmade gifts from over 30 artists, crafters, artisans, and makers.
The premier holiday shopping experience in Westman, Gala of Gifts provides visitors with a relaxing and festive atmosphere, featuring Santa’s workshop for children, live entertainment, a holiday café, and Gala bar. In-gallery music is provided, along with the return of the beloved TUBAChristmas. NEW! this year, we will be featuring a variety of local restaurants and food artists in our cafe, so come for the gifts and stay for lunch or dinner! We can’t wait to celebrate 30 years of this amazing holiday tradition with you!
Live Events Schedule:
Saturday, December 1
10:30am-2pm - Santa's Workshop for Kids
Before you head off to shop 'til you drop and relax in the bar or cafe, you can check your little ones in at the children's studio, aka, Santa's Workshop, complete with supervised work stations and craft areas. When you return to collect your little "elf", they will have a few new creations/presents, ready to go!
2:30-3:30pm - TUBAChristmas
Have you ever heard 25+ tubas performing holiday music in one space, at one time? Well, you should...2018 is the 45th anniversary for TUBAChristmas concerts/events internationally, and the 5th year of celebrating in Brandon! Please join us for the holiday tradition. Admission for the concert is free beginning at 2:20pm.
4:30-5:30pm - Mitchell Mozdzen
Mitchell Mozdzen is Brandon's very own blues and rock star who picked up the guitar at the age of 7. Mozdzen currently has 3 ep's under his belt and is always working on new music, recently writing about Indigenous affairs. Sit back and take a break from shopping as he performs a variety of songs to get you excited for the holiday season!
5:45-6:45pm Megan Demarest and Matthew Steckler
Enjoy a candlelit dinner and a glass of wine in our holiday cafe while listening to some sweet croons and holiday favourites by one of Brandon's own musical duos.
