Event
Held at Western Manitoba Regional Library

All youth ages 8 to 12 are invited to this free portrait-drawing workshop, offered by the Brandon Library and the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (AGSM).

At 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, we will meet in the AGSM lobby for a guided walkthrough of artist Meryl McMaster's self-portrait exhibit, Confluence.

We will then head downstairs to the Library Program Room for a program in portrait drawing. How do you draw a face to look like a face? How do you know where to position the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth? How do you make a nose really look like a nose? Learn all this and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to draw themselves, a friend, a character from a favourite story, or a face from their imagination. In fact, in the span of the program you will be able to try several options.

Please register ahead of time at the Children's Services Desk at the Library, or by phoning 204-727-6648. This program is entirely free, and all supplies will be provided.
