Manitoba Digital Initiatives Launch & Reception (FREE)

Join us for the public launch of the AGSM’s new digital initiatives program. Introduction by program manager Cecilia Araneda

SATURDAY WORKSHOPS

Sat Mar 16 – 10 AM to 1 PM (pick one)

Intro to Digital Film ($15)
An introduction to the equipment, softwares, processes, workflows, terminology and basic technical concepts involved in digital filmmaking and video production (16+). REGISTER HERE

Intro to Audio ($15)
An introduction to sound acquisition / production and post production processes, including a review of sound recorders, microphones, accessories, softwares and workflow (16+). REGISTER HERE

Intro to Independent Filmmaking ($15)
Learn about the different planning pathways to get your film project made, as well as the steps you can take to get your film onto the big screen (16+). REGISTER HERE

Sat Mar 16 – 2 PM to 5 PM

Smart Phone Movie Making ($15)
There’s an app for that! Learn tips on how to capture video using your smart phone and then edit it using free online software. Participants must bring their iPhone, Android or Windows smartphone to use in this class (13+). REGISTER HERE

FREE SATURDAY FAMILY FRIENDLY DROP-INS

* Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Screening: Manitoba Experimental Films for Kids! (FREE)
Fun, kid-friendly screening of ultra short films made by Manitoba directors!
Doors at 2 pm. Screening at 2:30 pm * Complimentary nut-free movie snack bar. 

Maker Stations for Kids of All Ages (FREE)
These fun digital art maker stations will provide fun, informal and interactive hands-on introductions to the basics of electronic art and stop motion animation.
